College Accreditation

W. L. Bonner College became a candidate for accreditation with the International Christian Accrediting Association (ICAA) in July of 1998. In January of 1999, the ICAA Executive Committee approved WLBC for the “fast track” status, which placed the college at the provisional level. The institution was fully accredited by ICAA in July 1999.

As a church-related school , WLBC is exempt from all South Carolina legislation governing colleges and universities.

In January 2000, the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), formerly known as the Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges (AABC), accepted WLBC at the pre-applicant level. The college hosted its first team  (site) visit for ABHE September 15-17, 2003, which was also a coordinated visit with ICAA. At its annual meeting, February 21, 2004, ABHE granted candidate status to WLBC.

WLBC will present its second self-study in the fall of 2006, anticipating a team (site) visit in 2007, as the college pursues accredited status by 2008.
