Non-traditional Programs
Institute Program (IP)
The Institute Program (IP) includes Women's Institute Program and Pastors' Institute Program. IP is an intensive program specifically structured for clergy and others directly involved in church vocations. Students attend classes one week each month totaling nine hours and 35 minutes.
Professors travel from various states to teach these classes. The professors are required to communicate closely with the students during the remaining weeks of the month through a systen called Faculty Directed Studies.
IP is designed for students to meet the same criteria as the criteria for traditional Residency Program students. IP offers certificates and/or degrees in the following areas: Biblical Studies, Church Ministries, Missions/Evangelism, Pastoral Ministries, Women’s Ministries, and Youth Ministries.
Students enrolled in the Residency Program may not enroll in Institute Program classes unless extenuating circumstances exist. All students residing in the Columbia area must receive permission from the Dean to enroll in IP or any of the IP classes.
Faculty Directed Studies (FDS)
Students may request to enroll in FDS. The student's academic advisor must first give approval and the Dean must give final approval.
