Bereavement Leave
In the event of a death of an immediate family member, a full-time employee who has successfully completed their probationary period is eligible for bereavement leave. If a death occurs in the immediate family (parents, grandparents, in-laws, spouse, sibling or child), you may be granted to three regularly scheduled work days.
To receive pay for bereavement leave, you must notify your supervisor immediately of your need. You may be asked to supply a copy of the deceased obituary or a signed document from the funeral home to receive bereavement leave. If you attend the funeral of a person other than a member of your family and you wish to be reimbursed for time lost from work, vacation hours must be used.
