Sick Leave
All full-time employees who have successfully completed their 90-day probationary period begin accruing sick time and are eligible to take sick leave after enough hours have been accrued. Sick pay will only be paid for the following reasons:
- You are sick or injured and unable to fulfill your duties as defined in the employee’s job description.
- A member of your immediate family is sick or injured and your presence is absolutely required.
- Medical or dental appointments (for the length of the appointment only).
Sick leave entitlement is earned at the rate of 4.0 hours per month (up to a maximum of 48 hours or six days per year). At the discretion of the Dean, a written statement from your doctor may be required to approve sick pay. Unused sick days may be carried over into the next year at the discretion of the Dean.
